The Haunted Hamlet — St. Augustine

St. Augustine, Florida, ranks as one of America’s most haunted cities, not just because of its history, but because of its vast number of documented supernatural sightings.

Founded in 1565 by the Spanish, St. Augustine has a colorful history that includes many battles and lots of pirate activity, so it’s not surprising that St. Augustine often makes the lists of America’s most haunted places.

Curious people all over the world have made a serious hobby out of investigating how real historic tales turn into lingering claims of unexplained phenomena, especially at the oldest structures like the St. Augustine Lighthouse, circa 1874. (source: St. Augustine Record).

Most of the stories told by various ghost-tour artists are historic in nature, so they interest visitors who want to learn about the past as well as those who focus on frights.

Here at Rype & Readi, we feature a bone-chilling, spine-tingling Haunted Mansion Spooktacular for the bravest among you. We also a Not-So-Scary Haunted House for the kiddos.

You won’t want to miss it.
